Tyrell has been working in partnership with Hawksworth Wood Community Association (HWCA) to create and promote an affordable office hub for startup businesses working in digital technology and the creative industries.
HWCA is a local group working on the Hawksworth estate in north Leeds on various community projects. Tyrell is based in the same building as HWCA and we partnered with them to help other local businesses set up shop there too.
Tyrell developed a brand and website for the facilities located above the HWCA community centre at 6 Broadway in Hawksworth Wood. Hawksworth Technical and Creative Hub, or HATCH for short, aims to attract small businesses and sole traders with a combination of affordable office space, excellent transport links and a high standard of local amenities. By locating similar businesses together, the idea is to act as an ‘incubator’ for startups in the digital and creative sectors.
HATCH offers secure office space, with individual desks available as well as whole rooms to rent, and opportunities to hire meeting space by the hour. The hub has unlimited parking, free broadband wifi, printing and photocopying facilities, and excellent security with individual locking doors, CCTV, and security shutters. The local area offers a mini supermarket, a bakery and sandwich shop, a range of useful shops and services, and excellent local childcare opportunities if required. It’s also a very green area with recreational and woodland areas within a few minutes walk for those wanting a lunchtime stroll.
The offices are available at extremely affordable rates, starting from just £10 per desk per week. A number of businesses have already expressed interest in using the space, including a graphic designer, an illustrator and artist, and a web developer.
Stephen Rennie, Chairman of HWCA commented: “We are confident that with the new HATCH website up and running thanks to our partners at Tyrell, more small businesses and sole traders looking for quality, affordable office and meeting room space will be inspired to join our friendly community.”
