Leading immigration and asylum law site Free Movement given complete overhaul by Tyrell.
Free Movement provides updates and commentary on immigration and asylum law, and is the leading UK resource on the subject, attracting some 100K unique visitors per month. Tyrell were approached in December to help with a refresh of the site’s look and feel, and fix a number of ongoing technical issues.
The previous site had a slightly outdated appearance and was not presenting its valuable content to its full potential. The site had complex functionality, including e-commerce, discussion forums, a paid membership programme with a range of members-only content, and a podcast series, in addition to the core news and blog functions. The interconnections of these different systems presented a number of issues and challenges for Tyrell in the site refresh. There were also a number of aspects of the site which were not working for various reasons.
Tyrell worked with site owners Garden Court Chambers to fix the technical issues and create a modern attractive new theme for the site, which would foreground the important work and news that the site covers.
Duncan Scobie, Managing Partner of Tyrell, commented: “We were very pleased to be able to help Garden Court Chambers, one of the country’s leading law firms, with this major web project. Free Movement is a very popular site so it was essential that downtime was kept to an absolute minimum and no functionality was lost or broken during the switchover. We were particularly happy with the very positive response to the new look from regular users of the site.”
